Little Messages

March 28, 2020 by stayathomefit@gmail.com 2 Comments

Sometimes you need to hear something…Often times life will bring you what you need to hear. But you need to put yourself in a place where you’ll hear the little messages life (God, the Universe, your true inner self, whoever) sends you.

Little Messages

I woke up this morning feeling creepy and blue. I had weird dreams, it’s a gray day outside, we’re in the midst of this crazy time, we’ve been home too long.

All the feelings. Mostly crappy.

Then I read my little personal development book that I read every morning. Each day has a message and a tip for living with “less stress and more flow.” (It’s Miracles Now by Gabrielle Bernstein…you can check out her morning routine here)

The message was exactly what I needed. It related to the root of what was causing these feelings, or at least most of them.

Of course, our feelings are complex and layered and it takes a little looking to see what the driving feelings are at any particular moment.

So I have a lot of feelings going on related to a lot of different things. But today it was feelings related to a certain event that was causing the pit in my stomach and the tension in my limbs.

Some gray days we can sink in and pull the covers over our heads. We can zone out and escape (as best as we can with the demands placed on us).

But today I couldn’t do that. The anxiety was almost like a living thing inside me, making me twitchy and mildly nauseous.

I avoided my morning routine for three hours because I was blue. But when I came around to it, there was this perfect message.

Sometimes life brings you the message you need to hear...but you need to be in the places where you can receive it.

So read books that make you think, inspire you, and help you grow. Listen to books and podcasts that are inspiring. Watch videos from people that have positive messages. Connect with people who are in the places you want to be.

Put yourself out there to receive the messages. Open your heart and mind to what life is telling you.

I’m still a little blah, but feeling a thousand times better. Here I am writing a blog post (after having writer’s block for two weeks) and having completed my morning routine.

(Except for the exercise- but that’s next. Because that is a fool-proof way to boost your mood.)

In case you need a kick in the butt here’s a post that might help you take action.

And if today’s a day where you pull the covers over your head that’s ok too. But keep your eyes and ears open for those little messages…they’re out there.

Thanks for the book tip of Miracles Now by Gabrielle Bernstein. I will have to check that out. I’ve enjoyed her other books, so I’m sure this one will be a pleaser.
