Do you feel stuck, restless, or frustrated with some part of your life? (Or all of your life?) Maybe it’s losing weight, finding love, dissatisfaction with your career, or lack thereof. Maybe it’s just feeling like there must be more and not knowing what that means. It could be that Groundhog Day feeling- like you’re just going through the motions and you miss feeling lit up and excited about things. I have felt stuck, adrift, etc. for a long time…happy with my life, but restless for more, particularly when it comes to work. Then I found Tama Kieves- author, speaker, coach, and life-changer. I’m hoping these 10 Tama Kieves quotes for times of transition will help you move forward with more ease…
1
Being in transition doesn’t mean you’re broken.
It means you’re breaking away from the old- the world that no longer fits you.
It may seem as though there are big gaping holes in your life.
But it takes some room to spread your wings.
2
What if you’re not stuck?
What if you’re not adrift?
What if you’re supposed to be right here in the dead center of it all for reasons you can’t see yet?
3
You are not your conditions.
You are not your response to your conditions.
You are strength, love, intelligence, and choices.
And you are more powerful than you know. That’s why this change is here. You are growing.
4
The truth has the power to take you into the life in which you belong.
Every limit you believe in will bow before the real truth within you.
There is always a real truth.
5
It was only when I asked what I really wanted that I found a direction that had wings and leverage.
6
It wasn’t about fitting a solution into my existing circumstances.
It was about finding an answer or direction that changed my existing circumstances.
7
These are times of initiation.
You are being asked to make a choice to love and advocate for yourself in a more powerful way than ever before- enough to choose faith in your own good life.
8
…you don’t want to be done. Done is boring. Done is when there is no juice left.
You didn’t come here to be static. You came to be ecstatic.
9
You can’t force yourself to be ready.
But you can keep taking steps in the right direction as many times as possible.
10
There will always be a gap, a space between where you are and where you want to be.
This isn’t failure.
This is life, especially for someone who continues to grow.
These words have made me feel less alone, less like a crazy person. They’ve made me feel more patient and more inspired.

Times of Transition
During times of change and transition, it can be easy to beat ourselves up and feel impatient about our progress. Why can’t I do this? Why is this taking so long?
These times can also feel lonely- everyone else seems to have their shit together, what’s the matter with me?
They can make us feel ungrateful- I have this beautiful life with so many blessings, why can’t I just be happy?
Wanting something different or more can be scary- how will it change the rest of my life?
It’s tempting to fall into old, comfortable patterns and just keep plodding along on the practical path. But there are other souls out there looking for something…Tama Kieves is proof.
